My name is Kathryn and I'm a New Zealand pharmacist with over 20 years of experience in community pharmacy, healthcare leadership, and patient care. I graduated from the University of Auckland School of Pharmacy in 2004 and have spent my career working across a wide range of pharmacy and healthcare environments, including dispensary management, aged care services, medicines adherence support, pharmacist mentoring, healthcare governance, general practice and primary care collaboration.

Throughout my career I'd seen every kind of pill box imaginable — and accepted, like most people, that they were just going to be ugly and clinical. It wasn't until I stumbled across something completely different that I realised it didn't have to be that way.

I wanted to find a better pill box, so I started looking everywhere. I tried and assessed countless designs, but many had obvious quality issues. Flimsy hinges, compartment doors that wouldn’t stay shut, awkward openings, or cheap mechanisms that squeaked and scraped every time they were used. Some were difficult to open, some compartments were way too small, while others simply didn’t feel reliable enough for something people depend on every day.

It took a long time to find the pill box I truly wanted.

The design I ultimately chose is compact, lightweight, and created with both quality and practicality in mind.
